Chièvres Garrison is committed to the well being of the community. There are many sports and recreational opportunities on
SHAPE and Chievres Air Base.

The Chièvres Sports program, centered at the Chievres Fitness Center, features seasonal sports, such as three-on-three basketball tournaments, flag football and
much more.

In addition to the fitness center, the Chièvres Sports complex features a state of the art football field and surrounding track, with lights for nightime games.

Teams in a variety of sports compete throughout the region for bragging rights throughout the year.

SHAPE

Green Gym

Located on SHAPE, Green Gym has two indoor tennis courts, free weights, treadmills, lifecycles, elliptical machines and climbers. This gym is free for all SHAPE and U.S. ID card holders.

The Main Gymnasium

Also located on SHAPE, SHAPE ID holders may participate in a wide variety of sport and recreation programs for a yearly fee.

The Main Gym has an extensive program that includes intramural and SACEUR Sports Competitions which include cross-country runs, soccer, cricket, badminton, swimming, rifle and pistol competitions. Special events are held such as softball, volleyball, baseball tournaments as well as a SHAPE basketball tournament.

The facilities include a full size basketball court that can be used for volley ball or badminton, three squash courts and 2 racket ball courts. A fitness room with a variety of weight training and Nautilus strength conditioning machines, life fitness electronic rowers and bikes, stair climbers and Nordic tracks are also available. There are also a 25-meter indoor swimming pool in addition to the 12 outdoor tennis courts, five softball fields, six soccer pitches and fields available for football, rugby, cricket, field hockey, and a 400 meter running track. The gymnasium offers many classes including karate, squash, swimming, tennis and aerobics.

Outdoor Recreation

Located at SHAPE, the Outdoor Recreation Rental Center offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation equipment at a nominal fee for all U.S. and SHAPE ID holders. Party canopies, super cookers, canoes, kayaks, bicycles, camping tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses and heaters are just some of the items offered. Equipment for volleyball, badminton and croquet as well as tables, chairs, and even ski equipment for Alpine and cross-country may also be rented.

Bowling Center

The Pizza Bowl is an ABC/WIBC sanctioned 12 lane center consisting of Brunswick synthetic lanes, AMF pinsetters and the Mendes automatic scoring system. The Pizza Bowl boasts a large youth program, men's women's, and mixed bowling. Bowling birthday parties, complete with party favors, shoes and bumper bowling are also available as are teen and adult parties.
